Beardless with great grazing and consistent hay production. It has short awnlettes. Forerunner triticale is very winter hardy, with great nutritional quality and high yields. It is widely adapted for grazing, greenchop, silage, and hay. Primarily used for spring harvested silage or hay, and is disease resistant to leaf and stem rust. It is recommended that it is harvested in or before the boot stage, and is suitable for forage quality for milk cows. After heading, it is best suited for dry cows and beef cattle.
