GW-600 BMR is a medium season dry stalk forage sorghum. This hybrid is fertile producing grain to be chopped for silage in the soft dough stage. Soft dough maturity is 90-95 days. Boot stage maturity is 70-75 days. Often times when cut in the boot stage it can regrow and be cut twice. Daily gains are improved with the increase in digestibility and palatability. GW-600 BMR will produce a good IVTD, TDN and NDFD%. The nutritive value from the grain will begin to decline after the soft dough stage. We recommend prompt harvest to ensure the balance between high feed value and maximum yield. Test results indicate that this hybrid can produce a yield and nutrient quality similar to that of silage corn.
