Silo-Pro Brachytic Dwarf BMR
(Sorghum Bicolor X Sorghum)

Silo-Pro is a full season brachytic dwarf BMR 6 forage sorghum. Silo-Pro contains two traits that make it superior to other forage sorghums. The hybrid is a 6-7 feet tall plant at maturity which gives it superior standability. The BMR trait indicates reduced lignin which will increase the TDN, IVTD and NDFD. The leaves produced are immense resulting in a canopy ideal for preventing weed pressure and evaporation. It will be in the soft dough stage at 100-115 days. Silo-Pro makes excellent tonnage (up to 25-30 tons) by producing additional leaves and thicker stalks. This hybrid can be planted or drilled in the spring or early summer to reach full maturity (soft dough stage). Harvest in the soft dough stage for direct chop silage. Higher seeding rates with a drill will result in a boot stage harvest to be swathed / mowed for wilting prior to chopping.

Seeding Rates:
  • Seeds per pound:  Approximately 13,000 - 15,000
