Sweet-Forever BMR PPS
(Sorgo Sorghum-Sudangrass)

Sweet-Forever BMR produces higher yields with full season growth. It is a multiple or single cutting photo-sensitive BMR sorghum sudangrass for baling, greenchop or grazing. Cutting frequency can be delayed an additional (20-25days) while maintaining quality and vegetative growth. When sorghum sudangrass heads out, it's not as likely to re-grow well, and could have 30-40% lower protein. When rain falls Sweet-Forever BMR grows and regrows well producing industry leading tonnage. For silage swathing and wilting on a 55-75 day schedule then chop it. This hybrid was selected for high sugar content, increased yield potential, drought tolerance and digestibility. The lignin (indigestible matter) is reduced by 30-35% which results in increased digestibility and utilization. TDN, IVTD and NDFD % testing has shown positive numbers compared to conventional hybrids.

Additional Characteristics:
  • Excellent recovery after cutting or grazing
  • Anthracnose & Downey Mildew resistant
  • Photo period sensitive full season growth multi or single cut
  • Lower harvest costs and higher yield by reduced frequency of harvest
  • Excellent tolerance to heat and or dry conditions
  • Good water soluble sugar content
  • Early growth vigor - good with warm soil 62 F
  • First cutting at 55-75 days
  • Second cutting at 30-35 days
  • Third cutting at 30-35 days
  • Harvest height is flexible between 50-85 inches tall

Testimonial

"I planted Sweet-For-Ever BMR in late May. The 1st cutting in early August averaged about 9 tons per acre, and the 2nd cutting in early October also averaged 9 tons per acre at 32% dry matter. Recent test show 11% protein and RFV 89% on dry matter basis.  I use it in my milk cow ration in place of wheatledge. The cows eat it well.  It is a very easy and inexpensive crop to grow. I plan to grow it again in 2013."    --- Andy  (Hereford, TX)
